As someone who suffers from Generalized Anxiety Disorder, I’m always looking for others like me. Not necessarily as someone who wants to compare who has it better or worse, but to see how they live with their anxiety and if I can implement any lifestyle changes they follow. One of those people is blogger Strong Calm Kelsey [Kelsey Buckholtz]. I came across her on Instagram last summer while starting my blog, and it’s been helpful to see how she lives with anxiety because we share a similar background. If you’re looking for a mental health book with useful tips and tricks to use in your daily life, I recommend “Strong Calm Confident You” by Kelsey Buckholtz.
About
“Strong Calm Confident You” by Kelsey Buckholtz highlights the author’s experience of pleasing people, perfectionism and striving for high performance, unfortunately at the expense of her own mental health. After she set boundaries to help her own mental health regarding these behaviors, she realized other women were suffering from the same thing. Her book features personal stories, journal prompts, and detailed exercises to achieve a more happy, authentic life. She wants her readers to learn how to love themselves and enjoy life.
Prompts
For my 2021 Reading Challenges, I used “Strong Calm Confident You” for the following prompts and challenges:

PopSugar Reading Challenge: the shortest book (by pages) on your TBR list
Final Thoughts
“Strong Calm Confident You” was an insightful read. I don’t journal myself, but I’m glad she offered that option for her readers to utilize. I made numerous highlights in my Kindle copy to reference in the future. It’s a little hard to comment on a person’s own experience while reviewing a book. However, Kelsey did a good job outlining her experiences and making it relate to the message she was promoting. Readers of any gender can easily relate to Kelsey and find numerous takeaways from her debut book.
